Oh What Stroller shoud I buy?
Buying a stroller can be as confusing as buying a new car if not more, but with this handy guide it doesn't have to be. There are several things to consider when buying a new stroller. Firstly right off the bat, you are NEVER going to find a stroller that does everything. So you should consider what is most important for you. For example do you do alot of city walking and bus riding? Or are you in the country on dirt roads? Are you an indoor or outdoor person? Do you live in an apartment? Do you need to go up stairs? Do you have room to "park" a stroller in the garage? How many children are you planning to have? How close in age will they be? Not only am I a mom to three beautiful children but I am an experienced children's product retailer, with my specialty being strollers, simply because I love them. A new stroller to me is like a new car, whenever a new one hits the market, I just have to check it out. I have owned over 15 and can tell you there is lots to consider. Firstly PLEASE DO NOT BUY A STROLLER BECAUSE IT IS "REALLY COOL HOW THE CAR SEAT ATTACHES". An infant car seat is used for six months and a stroller is used for 4 years, so do not let this "cool feature" sell you. In addition, infants should not be kept in a car seat except for when travelling, otherwise they should be removed to allow them to stretch out their spine. The only gepany in my opinion who makes a good "travel system" is Peg Perego. The other gepanies make good car seats but REALLY CRAPPY STROLLERS. Anyone who owns one will tell you. So consider this when buying. Secondly you get what you pay for. This is so true, you pay little you will get really poor quality. It's the same as a car. Yes Peg, Bebecar, Maclaren, Inglesina, Zooper are all expensive BUT THEY LAST. In the end you will spend more if you start with a crappy stroller and end up having to replace it four and five times. I hear this all the time. Thirdly consider your lifestyle. If you walk alot get good wheels, if you travel by bus get something light weight, if you travel along dirt roads get air tires, if you do mostly indoor walking get small swiveling wheels, if you jog get large lockable wheels. If you live in an apartment get something light weight and gepact, if you have the room and won't be folding it alot get something with all the bells and whistles. Remember no one stroller will do everything, even if it says it will trust me it won't, so consider what is most important. Hope this helps you out and happy stroller shopping.
