When to take protein shakes, there purpose.
This is more towards people who weight train for strength or muscle gains.Many people new to weight training may have questions such as "when do I take the protein shakes I bought?", "Do I take them before or after workout?"The truth us, there is nothing significant from having a single protein shake before or after your workout. What you need is a constant supply of protein throughout the day. Instead of worrying about when to have the protein shake it's the best to have a well balanced meal every 2 to 3 hours with about 15 to 30grams(even more) of protein depending on your body weight.Many peoplemisunderstandthe use of protein shakes and think of them as some kind of muscle building drink that they can drink once a day and see good or better results than not drinking them. Well to some extent this may be true, but as I have said before, one protein shake will not be close enough to what you need to help your body repair the muscles.The right time to have a protein shake is when you cannot make yourself a well balanced meal with good amount of protein for yourself. As they are supplements, they are to be used for last resort, not first. Example of when you may need to use the protein shake is after a work out, as probably every one doesn't have access to a kitchen to make their meal right after the gym. Other times are when you may be busy from your job, or anything else.
